How Helping Hands Work
How Helping Hands Work
The world around you is always speaking, telling you something. All you need to do is ACT.
Look . Listen . Learn . Act
The process of providing needed help involves three fundamental steps.
Step I
Through Discovery or Learning
Step I
Through Discovery or Learning
"Discovery" is when an individual physically comes in direct contact with anything that negatively impacts a person, an animal, or the environment. This is when that individual is faced with two choices - to respond or to ignore. "Learning" is when the information of a problem becomes known after it's shared between two or more people. Most problems affecting the world around us become known through learning.
Step II
Response
Step II
Response
Direct
Direct
When an individual or group makes immediate response by providing a helping hand to the impacted life (human, animal, environment).
1. Single Impact: One time immediate helping hands to help solve the problem that involves physical contact.
2. Multiple and/or Recurrent Impacts: More than one time support for the needy category that involves physical contact.
Indirect
Indirect
When an individual or group responds to a problem based on the information shared. An individual or group may act by providing helping hands in the form of resources such as fundings to solve the problem locally or in a different location.
1. Single Impact: One time support for the needy category without direct or physical contact.
2. Multiple/Recurrent Impacts: More than one time support for the needy category without physical or direct contact.
Step III
Helping Hands Plan
Step III
Helping Hands Plan
When an individual or a group dedicates resources to help solve, manage, or eradicate a problem, it's referred to as TMIMH Plan or The Helping Hands Plan. This includes organizing resources to support the efforts. An individual may mobilize resources to help solve a problem by starting a program or project. A group of people may also consolidate their resources to provide the helping hands needed.
Examples:
- An individual or group starting a program/project to respond to problems affecting orphans, the homeless, the disabled, the elderly, etc.
- An individual or group starting a program/project to rescue abuse animals, endangered species, stop poaching, etc.
- An individual or group starting a program/project to plant trees, clean polluted rivers, beaches, lakes, oceans, reduce air pollution, etc.
